Heart for Liberia Appeal
Liberia – a partnership of faith
Will you bring an outpouring of love to Liberia
The people of Liberia need us, having never recovered from two civil wars, followed by extreme outbreaks of Ebola and the COVID pandemic. Liberians struggle every day with severe lack of infrastructure, corruption, and massive social deprivation, and there is no end in sight but with your help we can make a difference. Learn about the on-going projects below and how differences have already been made to the lives of Christians in the country.
Please donate and help the Christians of Liberia.
“Liberia has been through so much suffering…”
– 19-year-old Margaret Mulbah, a catechist and youth programme leader in Monrovia, Liberia

ACN on the ground: Visiting the suffering Church in Liberia
In this episode of Break the Silence, ACN (UK) National Director Caroline Hull and Head of Press & Public Affairs John Pontifex discuss their recent visit to Liberia and give a moving account of what life is like for Christians in one of the poorest countries in the world and what ACN is doing to help.
Laying the Cornerstone of hope
ACN is laying a cornerstone of hope in one of the world’s poorest and most forgotten countries. Since ACN (UK) launched Project Liberia, churches, convents, pastoral centres – have already had already undergone such big transformation thanks to the generosity and compassion of ACN benefactors. But, in a country where up to 80 percent of primary children do not go to school, there is still so much to do. So many families are crying out for catechesis and Christian education, new churches and outreach to vulnerable families, especially women and girls.
Margaret’s Dream
At just 19, Margaret Mulbah is a shining example of hope for her community in Monrovia. Through an ACN-funded youth programme, she is receiving catechesis training and developing valuable skills to lead youth camps and offer support to disconnected young people. Despite the challenges of poverty, unemployment, and social issues in Liberia, Margaret’s dedication to her community is inspiring.
Helping keep the vulnerable safe
When the Holy Family Sisters learned that young Susanna was at risk of sexual abuse, Sister Godfrey and her team knew they had to act quickly, relocating Susanna to a haven in Harper, Liberia. Under their loving guidance, Susanna has overcome illiteracy and is now growing in confidence. ACN supports the work of Sisters in Liberia as they care for the vulnerable.

A thank you to the benefactors of ACN
Father Hamilton, a devoted priest from Liberia, has faced great challenges for over 6 years reaching the Christians of Moweh – a remote community located 85 miles from his church due to inaccessible roads. Despite the obstacles that he faces, Father Hamiltons commitment to serve the Lord and his faithful remains strong and unwavering.
Hear him in his own words to you for and your support in the “Heart for Liberia” campaign and how it has changed how he is able to continues God’s work.
Donate to the Heart of Liberia appealOmerly Kollie’s journey to the priesthood has been one of faith and perseverance. Despite opposition, Omerly’s dedication to his calling never wavered. Inspired by Father Garry Jenkins from the UK, who has spent over 50 years in Liberia establishing churches, Omerly remains committed to his calling.
Omerly shares his gratitude for our benefactors for himself and the other Seminarians that are able to study thanks to that ACN’s sponsorship from different dioceses across Liberia.
