Adoremus 2018
On the weekend of the 7th-9th September Liverpool’s Echo Arena played host to The Bishops of England and Wales’ National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress. The last International Eucharistic Congress in England was held in 1908. Participants engaged in a series of sessions focusing on different dimensions of the Eucharist and the daily celebration and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Aid to the Church in Need are extremely proud to have had two our of staff go and speak at Adoremus, John Pontifex and Marie Fahy.
John spoke of the persecution of Christians around the world that he has witnessed first hand.
“I have travelled to some of the world’s most dangerous countries, where to follow Christ is to risk your life. And in each of these places, I have met people who have told me they owe their very existence to the power of the Eucharist.” – John Pontifex.
Marie presented ACN’s call to action. The call from Marie is to make the sacrifice of an hour to pray specifically for a persecuted Christian by name.
“Attacks on Christians are occurring at unprecedented levels. I’m here to tell you how we can respond at an unprecedented levels – and it’s extremely simple. Aid to the Church in Need is asking you to go to an extra Mass or period of Adoration on behalf of someone who can’t. To kneel before the immense power of Jesus in the Eucharist in place of someone who is being stopped from doing so.”
Join with us in prayer, #Go2Mass and extend your love and support around the world.

“There is nothing so great as the Eucharist. If God had something more precious, He would have given it to us” St. John Vianney.
